A partir deste momento, comecaram as apresentacoes dos artigos academicos no Simposio. Ha cerca de dois anos, com a consolidacao deste evento nos Estados Unidos, passou a haver uma selecao anonima por parte de academicos de diferentes universidades que compoem o conselho editorial do Simposio. Vale lembrar que este eh um trabalho do professor Rosental Calmon Alves, que em seu espirito propositivo, transformou a Universidade do Texas em uma referencia em Jornalismo Digital.
A primeira mesa academica foi coordenada por Mark Tremayne, que tambem eh o coordenador academico do Simposio. Tremayne eh um jovem professor proveniente da pratica televisiva cujo interesse primeiro sao as novas tecnologias. Ele organizou no ano passado o interessante livro "Blogging, Citizenship and the Future of Media".
Os artigos e apresentacoes sao muito especificos e informativos. De acordo com a pragmatica pesquisa americana, sao resultados de um trabalho aplicado, com hipoteses de trabalho (research questions) e resultados pontuais.
